The evening is slowly settling in, and the bus feels like a moving playground. Riya and Vanya are laughing over some silly joke, Ishita is busy teasing Karan, while Arjun tries to prove he's the loudest in the group. Vikram throws in his witty comments, making everyone laugh even harder. The whole bus is buzzing with energy, voices overlapping, like a soundtrack of carefree youth.
Reyansh, however, sits quietly near the window. He watches the golden light of the setting sun spill across the seats, his eyes drifting between the group and the world outside. He smiles faintly at their jokes, but no one really pulls him in. It's not that he's excluded on purpose—it's just that his presence is softer, quieter, almost like background music compared to the loud chorus of his friends. The bus rattles along, laughter echoing
The elders' bus had already rolled through the gates, their voices echoing faintly in the courtyard. A few minutes later, the younger group's bus slowed down, brakes squeaking, and came to a halt right in front of a grand haveli. The sight was breathtaking—tall arches, carved balconies, and strings of marigold flowers swaying gently in the evening breeze. The fading sunlight painted the walls in a golden hue, making the mansion look almost magical.
Inside the bus, excitement burst out instantly. Riya leaned forward, eyes sparkling, "Wow, kitni badi haveli hai!" Vanya smiled softly, knowing this was going to be her wedding stage, while Ishita whispered to Arjun, "Feels like a movie set, na?" Karan laughed, nudging Vikram, "Bro, imagine the selfies we'll click here." The chatter rose like a chorus, overlapping voices filled with anticipation.
Reyansh, though, stayed quieter, gazing at the grand entrance. His expression carried a mix of awe and thoughtfulness, as if he was already imagining the ceremonies to come. The bus door creaked open, and the group prepared to step out into the world of lights, laughter, and traditions—because right here, in this haveli, Vanya and Vihaan's shaadi would unfold.
The younger group stepped into the haveli, their eyes adjusting to the warm glow of lights and the fragrance of fresh flowers. Inside, the elders were already mingling, and soon introductions began. Vanya and Ishita's family greeted them with wide smiles, offering hugs and cheerful words, "Aap log aa gaye, ab toh mazaa aur badh jaayega." The atmosphere felt instantly more alive, as laughter and chatter filled the grand hall.
Aroohi's family was also present with the elders, and this was the first time the younger group properly met them. The introductions carried a mix of curiosity and excitement—handshakes, polite smiles, and playful comments. Ishita's mother fussed over the girls, asking about the journey, while Vanya's father proudly pointed out the decorations already set up for the wedding. Vanya's cousins added a spark of humor, teasing lightly, "Abhi se dance practice shuru karni hogi, warna shaadi mein tum log peeche reh jaoge."
As the younger group settled inside the haveli, Ishita leaned closer to Aroohi's chachi, her voice curious yet gentle: "Chachi, Aroohi kab tak aayegi?" The question carried a mix of excitement and concern, everyone eager to see her join the gathering.
Chachi sighed softly, adjusting her dupatta, and replied, "Pata nahi beta... thodi der pehle phone kiya tha. Staff ne uthaya aur bola ki vo abhi surgery mein hai." Her words brought a sudden hush among the youngsters, the lively chatter dimming for a moment. The grand hall, glowing with lights and laughter, suddenly carried a note of worry.
Riya and Vanya exchanged glances, their smiles fading into thoughtful silence. Karan muttered under his breath, "Hope she's fine." Reyansh, who had been quiet all along, looked up with concern in his eyes, finally feeling connected to the moment. The haveli's festive atmosphere remained, but beneath it, a ripple of tension spread—everyone waiting, wondering when Aroohi would walk through those doors.
Karan, still curious, leaned forward with a playful grin and asked, "Waise Aarav bhai, aapki behen matlab kis cheez ki doctor hai?" His tone carried both genuine interest and a hint of teasing, as if he wanted to lighten the mood after hearing about Aroohi being in surgery.
The question made a few heads turn, everyone waiting for Aarav's reply. The background voices softened for a moment—Riya whispering to vihaan, "Bas ab pata chalega, doctor kis field ki hai."
Vaanya leaned forward, her voice carrying a serious tone: "Tumne ye to abhi suna hoga ki MP ke CM ko heart attack aaya tha... it was so serious, bachna bilkul mushkil tha." The group fell silent for a moment, her words hanging heavy in the air. Arjun's eyes widened, while Karan raised his brows, half in shock, half in curiosity
The moment Vaanya mentioned the CM's heart attack, the mood shifted slightly. Most of the group—Riya, Karan, Arjun, Vikram, even Reyansh—leaned in with curiosity, their faces showing a mix of shock and interest. Whispered voices overlapped, "Really? It was that serious?" and "Mushkil tha bachna... then how did he survive?" The busyness of the haveli seemed to fade for them as they tried to piece together the story.
But Vaanya herself, along with Ishita, Aarav, and their families, stayed composed. They didn't react with the same surprise, almost as if they already knew more than what was being said. Ishita exchanged a quick glance with Aarav, and his family remained calm, their expressions steady amidst the rising curiosity of the others.
Ishita leaned in, her voice carrying both pride and relief as she spoke to the group: "Unka operation Aroohi ne hi kiya tha... she's not just a cardiologist, she's also a cardiac surgeon."
The words landed with weight. The youngsters who had been curious moments ago now looked even more impressed. Riya's eyes widened, "Seriously? Dono cheez ek saath?" Karan whistled softly, shaking his head in disbelief, while Vikram muttered, "That's next level... no wonder she was in surgery." Even Reyansh, usually quiet, leaned forward with genuine interest, his gaze fixed on Aarav as if waiting for more details.
Meanwhile, Vaanya, Ishita, Aarav, and their families remained calm, almost proud, as if this revelation was something they had always carried with quiet dignity. The haveli's festive background—elders discussing decorations, cousins laughing about dance practice—continued, but within this circle, the atmosphere had shifted. Aroohi wasn't just another family member arriving late; she was someone extraordinary, a figure whose presence now carried suspense and admiration.
Suddenly, the lively chatter inside the haveli went quiet. Everyone froze, their attention caught by a faint noise near the grand entrance. The sound of footsteps echoed against the marble floor, building suspense.
And then—Aroohi appeared. She walked in gracefully, but her eyes weren't on anyone in the hall. She was holding her phone, laughing at something on the call, her voice light and carefree: "Arre, tum bhi na... " The contrast was striking—after all the serious talk about her being a cardiologist and surgeon, she entered with an aura of casual joy, completely unaware of the silence she had created.
The youngsters exchanged glances, some amused, some surprised. Riya whispered, "Dekho, The evening is slowly settling in, and the bus feels like a moving playground. Karan smirked, nudging Arjun, "Doctor sahiba ki entry toh filmy hai." Even Reyansh, who had been quiet, couldn't help but smile faintly at the unexpected moment.

Meanwhile, Vaanya, Ishita, Aarav, and their families watched with calm pride, knowing that this lighthearted entrance was just another side of Aroohi's personality—the same person who could save lives in an operating room and yet laugh freely like any other young woman at a wedding.
The hall, decorated with flowers and lights, now carried a mix of admiration, amusement, and anticipation. Aroohi's laughter echoed, turning her arrival into a cinematic moment that everyone would remember.
Aroohi finally ended her call, slipping the phone into her bag. As she looked up, she noticed the entire hall staring at her in silence—some with wide eyes, others with faint smiles. She tilted her head, a playful grin spreading across her face:
"Kya ho gaya hai? Aap sabko koi bhoot dikh gaya hai kya?"
Her teasing tone instantly broke the tension. The youngsters burst into laughter—Riya clutching Ishita's arm, Karan shaking his head with a chuckle, and Vikram adding, "Bhoot nahi, doctor sahiba ka swag dikh gaya hai." Even Reyansh, usually reserved, smiled quietly at the unexpected humor.
The elders exchanged amused glances, proud yet entertained by her carefree entry. The grand haveli, decorated with flowers and glowing lights, now echoed with laughter again, the suspense melting into joy. Aroohi's arrival had turned into a perfect blend of drama and comedy—exactly the kind of moment that makes family gatherings unforgettable.
Vaanya stepped forward with a warm smile, taking charge of the introductions. She gently placed her hand on Aroohi's shoulder and said, "Aroohi, yeh hai Reyansh ki family... aur yeh Vihaan ,Arjun aur Reyansh"
Aroohi, still carrying that playful energy from her phone call, looked up at them with a bright grin. "Ohh, hello! Finally mil hi gaye," she said cheerfully, her tone instantly breaking any lingering formality. Reyansh's family greeted her with polite smiles, impressed by her confidence, while Vihaan and Arjun exchanged quick glances, clearly curious about the doctor who had just walked in laughing moments ago.
The atmosphere softened again—elders nodded approvingly, youngsters chuckled at the timing, and the haveli's grand hall seemed to glow brighter with this new connection. The introductions carried both warmth and curiosity, setting the stage for bonds that would deepen as the wedding celebrations unfolded.
Karan, always the curious one, leaned forward with a mischievous smile: "Aroohi ji, ek sawaal... aapki age kitni hai?"
Before Aroohi could answer, Ishita jumped in quickly, her tone playful yet proud: "Vo 24 ki hai... hum sabse chhoti!"
The group reacted instantly—Riya giggled, "Wah, doctor sahiba aur surgeon bhi, aur sirf 24!" Karan whistled dramatically, "Matlab hum sab abhi school–college mein hi atke hain, aur madam life-saving operations kar rahi hain." Arjun teased, "Ab toh shaadi ke dance steps bhi doctor ke under hi karne padenge."
Aroohi laughed, shaking her head, "Arre bas bas, itna over-mat karo. Age toh number hai, kaam passion hai." Her words carried both humility and confidence, making the youngsters admire her even more.
The elders exchanged proud glances, while the haveli's festive atmosphere seemed to glow brighter—this mix of teasing, admiration, and laughter made Aroohi's presence feel even more special.
Riya folded her arms dramatically and said with a playful pout, "Main abhi tak sabse chhoti thi... but ab nahi rahi. Mujhse bhi chhoti hai koi!"
The group burst into laughter. Karan teased, "Arre wah, Riya ji ka title chhin gaya." Arjun added, "Ab toh tumhe 'baby of the group' ka crown Aroohi ko dena padega." Vihaan chuckled, "Doctor sahiba aur sabse chhoti bhi... double dhamaka."
Aroohi laughed along, shaking her head, "Bas bas, mujhe crown mat do. Main toh apna kaam karti hoon, tum log apna maza karo." Ishita nudged Riya with a grin, "Dekha, ab tum officially chhoti nahi rahi."
The elders smiled at the playful banter, proud to see the youngsters bonding so naturally. The haveli's festive glow seemed to brighten with their laughter, making the moment feel like a perfect blend of family warmth and youthful fun.
As the conversation flowed toward Vihaan and Vaanya's wedding, Reyansh's chachi suddenly turned to Aroohi with a mischievous smile. "Beta, tum to itni achhi ho... koi boyfriend to hoga hi?"
The hall went quiet for a beat, everyone waiting for Aroohi's reaction. Riya covered her mouth, trying not to laugh, while Karan nudged Arjun, whispering, "Ab maza aayega." Vihaan raised his brows in amusement, and even Reyansh looked up, curious to see how she'd respond.
Aroohi blinked, then chuckled softly, "Chachi, aap bhi na... operation theatre se nikal ke yahan boyfriend ki inquiry shuru kar di." Her playful comeback made the youngsters burst into laughter. Vikram added quickly, "Dekha, doctor sahiba ko bhi ab family interrogation ka samna karna pad raha hai."
Sab log abhi bhi chachi ke sawaal par thoda amused hi the ki tab Ishita ne turant hansi ke saath bola:
"Chachi, ek ho to bataye... itne saare hain!"
Hall mein ek second ke liye sab stunned ho gaye, phir zor-zor se hansi phoot padi. Riya ne Ishita ko lightly tap kiya, "Arre wah, tumne toh full dhamaka kar diya." Karan ne exaggerated tone mein kaha, "Matlab doctor sahiba ke fans ki line lagi hai." Arjun aur Vihaan bhi mazaak mein bol uthe, "Ab toh humhe bhi waitlist join karni padegi."
Reyansh ki chachi ke teasing ke baad Vaanya ne turant hansi ke saath bola:
"Yehi to problem hai, chachi... inhe real log pasand hi nahi. Sab ke sab fictional hi hain!"
The youngsters burst out laughing. Riya shook her head dramatically, "Arre wah, matlab main sochti thi ki main sabse chhoti aur thodi filmy hoon... par doctor sahiba toh full-on fictional world mein reh rahi hain." Karan added , "So basically, her boyfriend is a novel character, not a real guy." Arjun teased, "Then maybe we should all audition to become her 'real-life hero'." Vihaan joined in, "Exactly, otherwise she'll keep choosing from dramas and books."
Aroohi laughed, raising her hands in mock surrender: "Okay okay, tum sab ki imagination bahut strong hai. But honestly, I love fictional characters because they never argue, never complain... and they always look perfect."
Reyansh ki maa ne thoda serious yet gentle tone mein kaha:
"Phir bhi, beta... kabhi koi pasand hi nahi aaya?"
Sab log ekdum attentive ho gaye, jaise ab Aroohi ka jawab sabko aur zyada curious kar raha ho. Riya ne Ishita ko nudged kiya, "Ab toh asli interrogation shuru ho gayi." Karan smirked, "Doctor sahiba ki love story ka trailer shayad abhi mile."
Sab log ekdum curious ho gaye jab Aroohi thoda serious aur thoda playful tone mein boli:
"Mujhe to hai ek bohat pasand... par ye sab mante hi nahi hai."
Hall mein ek pal ke liye silence ho gaya, phir sabke chehre pe alag–alag reactions dikhne lage. Riya ne turant Ishita ko nudged kiya, "Arre wah, ab toh asli secret khulne wala hai." Karan ne exaggerated style mein bola, "Matlab doctor sahiba ke dil mein bhi koi hai... aur humhe abhi tak pata hi nahi tha." Arjun aur Vihaan dono ek saath hansi rok nahi paaye, "Ab toh full interrogation shuru karni padegi."
Reyansh thoda sa ruk gaya, jaise uske andar kuchh hil gaya ho. Aroohi ke words "mujhe to hai ek bohat pasand..." uske kaan mein goonj rahe the. Usse samajh hi nahi aa raha tha ki kyun usse achha nahi lag raha—jealousy thi, ya bas ek ajeeb si chubhan.
Uske chehre par ek halka sa change aaya, aankhen thodi serious ho gayi. Baaki sab log toh abhi bhi hansi–mazaak mein busy the, guessing kar rahe the ki Aroohi ka "pasand" kaun ho sakta hai. Riya aur Karan toh full-on detective mode mein the, "Arre batao na, kaun hai? Fictional ya real?" Vaanya aur Ishita bhi teasing kar rahi thi.
Par Reyansh chup tha. Usne bas ek corner se Aroohi ko dekha, aur andar hi andar socha: "Kya mujhe itna kyun feel ho raha hai? Mujhe toh farak nahi padna chahiye... par pad raha hai."
Dadu leaned forward with a gentle smile, his voice calm yet curious:
"Beta, tell me honestly... do you love him or not?"
Aroohi paused for a moment, her eyes soft but shining with intensity. Then she replied in a mix of Hindi and English, her tone carrying both playfulness and depth:
"Pyaar nahi, Dadu... hum to unse ishq karte hain. And now this ishq is turning into ibadat, like a prayer."
The hall fell silent. Her words carried a weight that made everyone stop and feel the emotion behind them. The youngsters exchanged stunned glances—Riya whispered, "Arre wah, doctor sahiba ke dialogues toh full filmy hain." Karan muttered, "Ishq turning into ibadat... that's next level."
Meanwhile, Reyansh froze again, his heart beating faster. He didn't know why, but hearing her say "ishq" stirred something deep inside him. The elders looked at each other, half amused, half touched, realizing this wasn't just casual banter anymore—it was something more profound.
Aarav, jo ab tak quietly sun raha tha, thoda sa teasing tone mein bol pada:
"Jise yeh madam pyaar karti hain... vo bhi impossible hai."
Sab youngsters ekdum react kar gaye. Riya ne turant curiosity ke saath kaha, "Impossible? Matlab koi filmy hero ya koi unreachable banda?" Karan, "So basically, her love story is mission impossible." Arjun chuckled, "Ab toh suspense aur badh gaya." Vihaan ne teasing mode mein bola, "Doctor sahiba ke ishq ka target toh shayad kisi fantasy world mein hi hoga."
Dadu leaned forward, his tone gentle but insistent:
"Beta, batao to... what's his name? Who is the one you love?"
Aroohi smiled, her eyes sparkling with mischief and intensity. She replied with a dramatic flair, mixing Hindi and English like a filmy dialogue:
"Bilal Abbas Khan... urf Kamyaar, Abdulhapur ka Devdas... aur haan, Shahmeer bhi."
The youngsters instantly reacted—Riya gasped, "Arre wah, doctor sahiba ka hero toh Pakistani drama ka star nikla!" Karan laughed, "So her ishq is with Kamyaar and Shahmeer, not a real guy." Arjun teased, "Matlab hum sabko ignore karke direct Devdas choose kar liya."
Meanwhile, Reyansh froze again. Hearing the names made his chest tighten—he couldn't explain why, but the idea that Aroohi's "ishq" was directed toward someone else, even a fictional character, stirred something uncomfortable inside him. The elders exchanged amused glances, while the youngsters kept teasing, turning the moment into a perfect blend of laughter, drama, and suspense.
Aroohi ne thoda sa dreamy aur filmy tone mein kaha, "Ab kya kare, humara mann to unse nikkah karne ka hai... par aisa ho nahi sakta."
Sab youngsters ekdum hansi mein phoot pade. Riya ne turant tease kiya, "Matlab doctor sahiba ka nikkah celebrity ke saath... wah wah!" Karan said, "So basically, her dream wedding is with Bilal Abbas Khan himself." Arjun chuckled, "Abdulhapur ka Devdas aur Shahmeer ban gaye dulha."
Vaanya mischievously said, "Dekha chachi, inka problem yehi hai... real log pasand hi nahi, sab fictional ya unreachable hi hote hain."
Reyansh ke papa ne thoda serious aur affectionate tone mein kaha:
"Beta, kisi ko toh pasand karo... par fictional mat karo. Real zindagi mein hi apna saathi dhoondo."
Sab log ekdum attentive ho gaye, jaise ab Aroohi ka jawab sabko aur zyada curious kar raha ho. Aroohi khadi ho gayi, uske chehre par ek confident aur filmy expression tha. Usne calm but intense voice mein kaha:
"Abhi tak koi mil hi nahi raha jo bole... 'Tum bas saanse lo, Mohtarma, baaki sab hum dekh lenge.'"
Hall mein ek pal ke liye silence chha gaya, phir youngsters ekdum stunned aur amused ho gaye. Riya ne softly whisper kiya, "Arre wah, kya dialogue maara hai!" Karan said "That's like straight out of a movie scene." Arjun chuckled, "Matlab doctor sahiba apna hero khud likh rahi hain."
Finally, Aroohi (tired smile, graceful exit):
"Bas karo ab... meri shaadi nahi hai, Vihaan aur Vaanya ki hai. Aur ab aap sab baatein kariye, main ja rahi hoon. 5 ghante ki surgery thi aur uske baad maine pura raasta drive kiya hai. Ab rest karne jaa rahi hoon."
(Silence. Elders a little shocked, then softly concerned.)
Reyansh ke Papa (gentle):
"Beta, pehle hi chali jaati... itni der baithi rahi, aur ab bol rahi ho ki surgery aur drive ke baad thaki ho. Tumhe rest karna chahiye tha."
Riya (softly):
"Haan doctor sahiba, ab hum samajh gaye... tumhe kitni thakan ho rahi hogi."
Karan (half-teasing):
"Filmy dialogues ke baad filmy exit... but health first."
(Aroohi gives a tired smile, quietly walks out. Sabke chehre pe ab hansi ke saath thoda concern bhi hai. Reyansh bas chup reh kar usse jaate hue dekhta hai, dil mein ek unsaid emotion ke saath.)
